The other week I went for a short 40 minute drive (which ended up being 1 hour in traffic) to a cliff in Malabar Headway National Park. It’s amazing how much beauty is right by your front door. We all have this idea in our heads that we have to get on a plane and fly hours and hours away from home in order to gain new travel experiences. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
Nature is everywhere. It can be found in your own state, your own country or even a country on the other side of the world. But no matter what your situation is, there is nothing stopping you from going on a short drive to discover some place new. While we were at this new and developing national park I was able to explore old abandoned buildings (one of my favourite things to do) and experience the breathtaking views of the open ocean.
Seeing as this national park is just being built up, I felt as though I was walking through untouched land which made it all the more special. The first time I visited this cliff it was all dirt pathways, rocks and the occasional broken beer bottle. Only a few short months later I went back to discover board walks starting to be built and maps being added to the pathways. I can’t wait for this beautiful destination to become a place for all to enjoy!
